Terry Kachel Dies Aged 62

Former player, coach and administrator, club founder, club patron and role-model and friend to us all, Terry Kachel, has died at the Mater Hospital yesterday evening at around 9pm with his family at his side following a short but severe battle with cancer.

Simon Kachel will ``forward details of the send off in the next few days'' and hopes ``to see as many seahorses together [as possible].''

Or, in Terry's words: "The more we are together the happier we'll be".

3rd Win

We posted our 3rd win for the season to keep our unbeaten home ground record. With both our losses for the year being away games, this weeks trip to Canberra to play the ANU Grizzlies gives us a chance to put back-to-back wins on the board and win one away from home.

Update

 [May 6th, 2010]

We are now 2 wins and 2 losses after a 28-4 defeat of the Polecats and going down 36-30 at Bathurst.

I heard the boys were joined on the Bathurst trip by 3 old boys who made sure the players were well feed and well drunk by the time the bus got back to Newcastle.

This week we play UTS Tigers at home. The Tigers are yet to get a win, but with their first grade side having the week off I am sure they will be a better side.
